Jayson Tatum led the Celtics with 36 points, while Jaylen Brown added 31 points. Domantas Sabonis led the Pacers with 24 points, and Malcolm Brogdon added 22 points.
The Celtics took control of the game in the third quarter, outscoring the Pacers 32-18. Tatum and Brown combined for 20 points in the quarter.
The Pacers cut the Celtics' lead to 11 points with 3:30 remaining in the fourth quarter, but the Celtics held on for the win.
The Celtics will host the Pacers in Game 3 on Saturday night.

Brown was efficient from the field, shooting 15-of-24 (62.5%) from the field and 6-of-12 (50%) from three-point range.
With the Celtics leading by just one point with less than two minutes remaining in regulation, Brown hit a clutch three-pointer to give the Celtics a four-point lead.
