Texas WR DeAndre Moore Jr. Injured vs. ULM

Longhorns’ Offense Takes a Hit

Texas wide receiver DeAndre Moore Jr. was injured in the first half of Saturday’s game against ULM and did not return. The injury occurred on a 15-yard catch and run in the second quarter. Moore was tackled awkwardly and appeared to injure his right knee. He was helped off the field by trainers and did not put any weight on his right leg.

The extent of Moore’s injury is not yet known, but it is a significant blow to the Texas offense. Moore is one of the Longhorns’ most talented and experienced receivers. He has 10 catches for 156 yards and two touchdowns this season. If Moore is unable to play, it will put more pressure on the rest of the receiving corps, which includes Xavier Worthy, Jordan Whittington, and Casey Cain.

Season-Ending Injury

On Sunday, Texas announced that Moore had suffered a torn ACL and would miss the rest of the season. The injury is a major setback for the Longhorns, who are now without their leading receiver.

Moore is a talented player who was expected to be a major contributor to the Texas offense this season. He has good size and speed, and he is a skilled route runner. Moore was also one of the team's most experienced players, having started 10 games in 2021.

The Longhorns will now have to find a way to replace Moore's production. Worthy is a talented receiver, but he is still young and inexperienced. Whittington and Cain are both capable receivers, but they have not been as productive as Moore.
