The Kansas City Chiefs offense struggled mightily in the early going of Super Bowl LVIII on Sunday evening. The Chiefs were held scoreless in the first half and trailed 10-0 at the break.

Tight end Travis Kelce was one of the few bright spots for the Chiefs in the first half. Kelce caught three passes for 43 yards, including a 25-yard reception that set up the Chiefs' only scoring play of the half, a field goal by Harrison Butker.

After the game, Kelce expressed his gratitude to the Chiefs for his new contract, which made him the highest-paid tight end in the NFL. "I'm so thankful to be a part of this organization," Kelce said. "They've always believed in me, and I'm committed to helping this team win another Super Bowl."

The Chiefs will need Kelce to continue to play at a high level if they want to win their second Super Bowl in three years. The Chiefs will face the Philadelphia Eagles in the Super Bowl LVIII rematch on February 12, 2024.
